When Wish Granters Kelley Danielson and Tony Burger asked her what her passion was, music was the first and only thing she could think of. Gabby is a 14 year-old teenager from South Minneapolis who loves to sing; music gives her the chance to express herself. That is exactly why she wished to record a CD and have a producer listen to it!
Even though she suffers from a brain tumor, she is in great spirits. In fact, Gabby is smiling a lot bigger these days thanks to a special event on June 8th, when she not only celebrated her 15th birthday but also released her very first CD! Gabby’s wish was granted through the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Minnesota, with a lot of help from Billy McLaughlin, Producer Kirk Johnson, and many other close friends of the Foundation.
If you happen to get the chance to meet Gabby, make sure you ask her about what it felt like to write and record her very own song, and to work with such well known music producer!
On June 8th, at Hard Rock Cafe Minneapolis, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Minnesota rolled out the red carpet for Gabby. She arrived by limo to step out onto the red carpet where she was greeted by family, friends, paparazzi and many screaming fans! That very same night Gabby performed “Killing me softly” and “Joy in my life” in front of more than 100 family, friends and fans. “Joy in my life”, is an extra special song that she wrote, making her wish come true. Thanks to everyone who made this very special wish come true!
